What is the Melanage Skin Brightening System?

The Melanage Skin Brightening System is a supercial chemical peel designed to improve the texture and appearance of the skin. It entails application of a cream masque and an at-home regimen. There is no pain and little-to-no irritation during the application of the masque. Typically, the irritation level on the following 3-4 days is more like a sunburn.

How does it work?

The Melanage 1 Masque is applied during an ofce visit where it is compounded freshly to ensure its potency and reliability. The masque is removed by the patient after a required length of time depending on skin type. Patients leave the ofce with this masque on their face. Patients are responsible for adhering to an easy-to-follow, but strict, at-home regimen involving the application of several Melanage products following masque removal.

What results can I expect?

Results will vary but generally patients will see improvement in skin texture and appearance. Although most patients experience supercial peeling of the skin, not every patient will notice this. If you do not notice actual peeling, please know that you are still receiving all the benets of The Melanage Skin Brightening System. Proper skin evaluation by your doctor prior to your peel is important and will help predict the outcome.

Who should not be treated?

The Melanage Skin Brightening System SHOULD NOT be used on patients with active cold sores or warts, skin with open wounds, sunburn, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis or inammatory rosacea in the area to be treated. Inform your medical professional if you have any history of herpes simplex, allergies, rashes, or other skin reactions, or may be sensitive to any of the components. This peel is not recommended if you have taken Accutane within the past year, or received chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

The Melanage Skin Brightening System should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding (lactating) women.
